My goal is to fully engage you as deeply as you desire in the
planning and asset management process while building a foundation of
trust. Towards this end, we will start with a core set of financial information to construct the foundation of your financial plan, with additional details being integrated as you become more comfortable and less overwhelmed with the process. Your
managed assets will be held by a third party custodian (Ameritrade),
and no portfolio adjustments will be made without your prior
approval (non-discretionary). The planning process is successful when we identify ways to fully enjoy the present while planning for the future. Annual reviews and frequent contact increase comfort, trust and the probability of success. Planning Steps:
1. Identify values and goals We will discuss your hopes and expectations for the future, your personal, family and community values, your risk tolerance, and your goals. 2. Prioritize goal tradeoffs We then explore your priorities to focus on solutions that meet the goals which have the highest value to you. 3. Develop strategies and recommendations After understanding your goals and priorities, I will evaluate alternatives, and recommend solutions designed to help you achieve your goals and objectives with confidence and without undue sacrifice. I will explain the concepts you need to understand in order to make informed decisions about the recommended financial strategies. All recommendations, whether focused on savings, investments, retirement planning, risk management, education planning, tax planning, estate planning, or any other issue, will be integrated towards achieving your goals. 4. Implement and coordinate with other professionals My objective is to assure that your plan is fully and properly implemented. I will meet with you and your attorney, your accountant, or other professionals as you desire to assist with the coordination and implementation of your plan. I do not provide legal advice, nor will I prepare any legal documents. 5. Provide ongoing information and communication I consider financial planning a continuing process, not just a single event. I will meet with you at least annually for an in-depth review of all aspects of your financial plan. If an in-person meeting cannot be arranged, I will schedule a telephone conference call at a convenient time for you. The annual review will include a review of your goals, objectives and accomplishments for the purpose of examining whether changes are needed to maintain an appropriate level of confidence or whether additional goals can be achieved. I will be available to talk with you, meet with you or answer questions whenever you need us. I encourage you to call us or meet with me if you anticipate any significant life changes or need to make any decisions that may have significant financial consequences. |
